Atlanta Technology completes virtualisation deployment for Kaim Todner Solicitors

Atlanta Technology has completed the migration to a fully virtualised infrastructure for Kaim Todner Solicitors Ltd. The transition to virtualisation has enabled Kaim Todner to future-proof its IT by adopting two virtual hosted servers and one centralised storage device, in place of eleven original physical servers, improving scalability, while also saving administration resources and the costs of powering and cooling onsite hardware.

Date: 30 Apr 2012

With over 100 staff and four UK-based offices, Vince Moran-McHugh, IT Support Manager at Kaim Todner was keen to migrate to a virtualised infrastructure for a number of reasons, as he explains: “Our work is predominantly Legal Aid based and so our solicitors can be called on, at any time, to represent the legal interests of clients who have been charged by the police. Therefore it is vital that our services are supported by a modern IT system so access to the latest case law data and advice is available to our staff and clients, wherever they are.”

Vince continues: “We appointed Atlanta Technology to manage the migration to an on-premise virtualised infrastructure, which not only reduces the cost base of IT, but more importantly to us provides a rugged and highly scalable infrastructure that can cope with the growing demands of our highly responsive business. The new virtualised infrastructure is able to cope with fluctuating demands from our four office locations and if additional server space is needed, it is quick to administer and doesn’t have the related hardware costs or administrative overheads that you would with a traditional onsite network.”

Simon Kelson, Managing Director of Atlanta Technology added: “We are pleased to have supported Kaim Todner implement a flexible, future-proofed infrastructure that doesn’t incur the significant outlay related to physical networks. Instead it provides greater flexibility, notable cost savings from the reduced administration and hardware procurement, in addition to the added peace-of-mind that the infrastructure utilises the very latest technologies to ensure maximum uptime for its group of offices.”
